THE MOTHER LODE COUNTRY OF CALIFORNIA
Interior of the Stone Jug "Ice Cream Parlor". Buck Huey's
saloon and dance hall originally on this site was restored and
converted into an ice cream and soft drink establishment.
The lamps, marble counter and other furnishings are authentic
of the 1860 period. The town in its heyday had 35 saloons,
three breweries and three temperance halls. Volcano was one
of the largest producers of free gold in the state.
