Shrimp Feet, At Mayport Landing,

Mayport is noted for its shrimp and fish industry and its
surroundings are full of historic interest. It is located at
the mouth of the St. Johns River, 18 miles east of Jackson-
ville, Fla., and got its name from River May which was the
original name later changed to St. Johns River. Near May-
port stands a monument to Jean Ribault who led a band of
French Huguenots and were the first Protestants to set foot
on Florida soil.
