The Clan Macintyre. This clan is believed to be one
of the numerous septs of the Macdonalds, once the most
powerful of the Scottish clans. The Macintyres had their
territory in Glen O, near Bunawe, in the district of Lorn,
Argyllshire. They were the hereditary toresters of the
Stewarts, the Lords of Lorn. Most of the clan emigrated to
America early last century. Their war cry is "Cruachan"
(a mountain near Loch Awe), and their badge "Common
Heath."
