The Clan Macnaughton. This is one of the ancient
Pictish families, and their lands lay in the district of Lorn,
on the shore of Loch Awe, in Argyllshire. The clan
fought at Flodden in 1513, where their chief was killed.
The chieftainship is held by the Baronet of Dunderove,
County Antrim, where a branch of the family settled. Lord
Macnaughton, one of the Lords of Appeal, belongs to the
chief line. The war cry was "Fraoch Tilean" (Heather
Island), and the badge "Trailing Azalea."
