EARP, CALIFORNIA Two miles West of Parker,
Arizona across the Colorado River in California.
Named for Wyatt Earp an early frontier Marshal
who gained his greatest fame in Tombstone,
Arizona. He was responsible for the liquidation
of some of the gangs of "bad men", bank and
railroad hold-up desperados who infested the
frontier towns. Many tales of his prowess have
been duly recorded in books and articles dealing
with this era of settlement in the Southwest.
