Gateway to the Scenic Finger Lakes Country. The Mark Twain was named for America's greatest humorist and world famous author, who lived and wrote many of his books in Elmira. He is buried in Elmira's Woodlawn Cemetery. The Mark Twain Hotel lacks no single detail which contributes to the well-being and complete satisfaction of the most discriminating traveler. William C.
