Parish organized in 1821. Bishop Ravenscroft,
first Bishop of North Carolina, was for the first
five years of his Bishopric also the first rector
of Parish. His remains under the chancel of the
church. Present church built in 1849. Desigylad
by Richard M. Upjohn, noted English archifedt

St., New York. Christ Church said to be the PM
finest specimen of Gothic architecture in the
South. Parish has had but three rectors duting
past ninety years.
