The GIRLS
Te
Dear Friend: This card is sent you as a New Year's greeting and to tell you some-
thing you will be glad to know. We are going to introduce in our Sunday-school THE GIRLS'
COMPANION. This is a new eight-page weekly paper especially for girls in their teens.
Copies will be given out for the first time in our school next Sunday, January 1. We particu-
larly wish you to receive the first issue, as in this number begins a serial story entitled, "The
From A. to Z.' Company," that will set you girls wondering at the beginning how it is going
to end, and will satisfy you fully at the close.
The leading story in the first number is called, "School Life in the Kentucky Hills." This is a
story of a young girl who longed to look beyond the hills that shut her in, and to make more
of her life. Another story is entitled, "When Lois Camped with the Girls," a rollicking story of
the outdoor world.

Besides stories, the GIRLS' COMPANION has many departments, touching all phases of girl-life, such
as: "The Well Dressed Girl," "Girls Who Love Music," "How Girls Make Money," and others.
Then there are prize departments, one of which is connected with each Sunday-school Lesson. With
January begins a prize contest entitled, "What I Have Learned as a Wage Earner." Cash prizes
of $7.00, $5.00 and $3.00 will be given. You will want to enter the con-
test.
Please tell the girls of your acquaintance about the GIRLS' COMPANION.
We want them all to receive the first number, and besides, I must know
how many copies to order for future Sundays.
Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year, I am,
Sincerely yours,
Superintendent.
