THE OLD MISSION at SOCORRO, N. M.
has much historic legend and tradition from the offer of one mil-
lion dollars reward for the return of the solid silver Communion
rail of the original church built in 1626 - and thought to have
been buried during the Indian Rebellion of 1680. And, in addition
to being a religious edifice, all deeds to land in Socorro read:
"Del centro de la iglesia". (from the center of the church).
