PEANUTS
WITH shaggy brown hair, freckles and a free-an'-easy attitude, Peppermint Patty marches
to her own drummer. She's a plain-talkin' tom-boy who wears sandals and is a proud member
of the "D-Minus Hall of Fame." Fortunately for Peppermint Patty, her best friend Marcie is a
good student and sits in the desk behind her at school. Peppermint Patty complains, "This is
a hard test." Marcie corrects her, "This isn't a test, Sir. They just want to know when you were
born." Peppermint Patty replies, "Too late... I already put down 1492!" School is her nemesis.
When questioned by the teacher about her homework assignment, Peppermint Patty feigns
innocence, "History lesson? No, Ma'am, I haven't read it. I thought maybe I'd wait until it comes
out in paperback." Star pitcher for her baseball team, she likes to win-she'll only let Charlie
Brown pitch when "It's the last of the ninth, two outs and we're ahead fifty to nothing."
