CHARLIE Brown's little sister Sally has her own way of doing things. She doesn't take criticism
well and can't understand why she has to go to school. Charlie Brown tells her firmly, "Look,
Sally, you're going to have to go to school so you might as well get used to the idea." She finally
concedes, "I guess you're right. . . I'll just have to make the best of it. I'll go to kindergarten, and
I'll study, and I'll play all their games, and I'll try to get along with everybody. .. BUT I WON'T
LEARN LATIN!" Her essays are often short and to the point, " 'The Nile River is like the
Mississippi. If you've seen one river, you've seen them all.' " When she's not thinking about
school, Sally pursues a one-sided romance with Linus. She adoringly calls him her "Sweet
Babboo," and with a dreamy smile, she says to anyone who will listen, "Isn't he the cutest thing?"
