PIGPEN is easy to find- just look for a cheerful boy with a wide grin, kicking up a dark cloud
of dust and dirt. A generous lad, Pigpen happily shares candy with the gang. For example, he
fishes into his pocket and pulls out a handful of sticky gumdrops, "How would you like a
gumdrop, Charlie Brown? I've only had them in my pocket for a week. There's some white
ones, some pink ones, some red ones and some black ones." Charlie Brown observes, "They
ALL look black to me!" Pigpen doesn't care if the gang teases him, but seems to enjoy his
slovenly reputation. Patty observes, "Pigpen, you're a mess! You're a mess when you eat, a
mess when you play and a mess when you're standing still." Pigpen states the obvious,
"Well, you'll have to admit ONE thing... I'm consistent!" Amazingly, the mysterious cloud of
dirt follows him everywhere even when its raining or snowing.
