PEANUTS
EVER since their first meeting at the beach, Franklin and Charlie Brown have been good
friends. Although they live across town from each other, they manage to get together once in
a while for an ice cream cone or a thoughtful discussion about their grandfathers. Franklin
goes to the same school as Peppermint Patty and Marcie. In fact, he sits in the desk directly
in front of Peppermint Patty, who is the worst student in the class. Franklin is well-versed in
the Bible and can quote Old Testament scriptures with eloquence. He and Charlie Brown like
to talk about the wisdom, worries and woes of their grandfathers. Franklin says " 'You never
miss the water till the well runs dry.' That's what my grandfather always used to say." Charlie
Brown is impressed, "He must have been a very wise man." Franklin explains, "No... that's
all he ever said."
