A million dollar traffic distribution system with ramps,
overpasses and viaducts, resembling a roller coaster
spreads out traffic to and from the San Francisco-Oak-
land Bay Bridge at the Oakland Shore Approach. The
length of this structure with its 16 separate grade
crossings is 8500 feet. Traffic is distributed in three
directions, without necessitating a left hand turn or a
right-angle crossing. Large illuminated signs direct
motorists “To Oakland”—“To Berkeley”—“To Ala-
meda”—“To Richmond”—“To Sacramento”—“To
San Francisco”-etc.
