The Sarasota Municipal Auditorium and Recreation
Center completed in 1939 at a cost of a quarter of a
million dollars includes in its layout a new modern
auditorium, recreation club rooms, 40 shuffleboard courts
with a clubhouse, one of the finest bowling greens in the
state, tennis courts, archery ranges, and putting greens.
Winter tourist activity radiates from this attractive center
overlooking Sarasota Bay.
