Cedar Point Boat Landing
Additional Details:
Monticello, the home and burial place of Thomas Jefferson, is three miles west of Charlottesville. This Colonial mansion stands upon a eminence, and commands a view of the Blue Ridge for 150 miles. Washington, Adams, Lafayette and Hamilton were all entertained in the always hospitable Monticello, and there Jefferson died July 4th, 1826. Along the highway, leading to the entrance, the path still remains where Jefferson, pursued by Tarlatan' men, made his escape. |
