Bennie the friendly Sea Lion who visited St. Clair December 1935 and 1936 and played about On the roads with the dogs. He even found his way through a window of a house at St. Clair and entered the ladys bedroom and had a nap on the bed. He was taken to Brighton and released there but was back at St. Clair before the hour. He was taken to the zoo at Wellington and passed away there.
