| Here is the history of the name Daytona-Mathias Day, of Mansfield, Ohio, bought 3200 acres of land along the ocean front intending to colonize it with his personal friends. That was in 1870. In 1872 a committee of founders named this area in honor of Mr. Day. And so it grew. |
