MONTICELLO, HOME OF THOS, JEFFERSON
Monticello, the home and burial place of Thomas Jefférson, is
three miles west of Charlottesville. This Colonial mansion
stands upon an eminence, and commands a view of the Bluo
Ridge Mountains for 150 miles. Washington, Adams, Lafayette
and Hamilton were all entertained in the always hospitable
Monticello, and there Jefferson died on July 4th, 1826.
