Lackland's unique overpass allows pedestrians to
cross safely over Highway 13 which divides the base.
Airmen trainees and WAF (Women in the Air Force)
airmen trainees are shown here returning from a
parade. The WAF six-week basic training program is
similar to the one for male trainees. Lackland AFB,
the largest training center in the free world, is
located nine miles southwest of downtown San
Antonio.
