toward my lord. Catch! catch again, catch
again."
(She now has the ball and turns to throw it.
but in the meantime her husband, Roger de
Newburgh, has entered unperceived, and
motioning her to keep silence, has taken the
place of the girl on Gundrada's right.)
Roger (catching the ball): "I catch!"
Gundrada (with a cry of joy): "My lord!"
(She sinks at his feet. The girls scatter, laughing.)
