A Street in Chefoo, China.-Chefoo is a seaport town in
the northern part of China, near the mouth of the Yi-Ho,
which was opened to foreign trade in 1858, and is the cen-
ter of great and increasing commerce. This port came into
great prominence during the Russian and Japanese war,
being an open port in China that figured very much in the
dispatches during the war.
