Street Scene, Cairo. This street scene belongs to the
older quarter of Cairo, where Copts and Fellaheen come
to buy cakes and fruit and fish for themselves, harness for
their donkeys, and cheap jewellery for their women. The
veiled woman in the foreground is probably a Copt, and
the man beside her a Fellah. Such a bazaar as this is
called a Suk.
