ZULU WOMEN DRINKING KAFFIR BEER
KIMBERLEY, SOUTH AFRICA
Kimberley is the center of the diamond fields in
Cape Colony, formerly under Boer rule and recently
ceded to England after a brave but hopeless defense.
The women are seen drinking a native beer out of a
gourd, called Colobash, which, when fully grown, is
usually cut in two, dried and used as a drinking cup.
