This pioneer western city, elevation 3,220 feet, lies on the western boundary of fertile farm lands and is the Eastern Gateway to the colorful Black Hills. Among the many interesting points in the city, are Museum at School of Mines, Indian Museum at Halley Park. Visit to Canyon Lake and Rapid Canyon are enjoyable trips. The famous dinosaur Park is reached over the well known skyline drive. The Rapid City Air Force Base is 10 miles east on Highway U. S. 14-16. |
