Historic St. Ignace

| Located in the Upper Peninsula at the northern terminus of the Mackinac Bridge, St. Ignace has in turn bee a important Indian encampment: a French fort (Fort De Buade), fur trading post and Mission; later taken over by the British; and came into control of the United States following the war of 1812. |
