A stern-wheeler steamboat, its whistle roaring and blow-
ing out steam, plows its way up the Mississippi River
under the Mark Twain Memorial Bridge at Hannibal,
Missouri. The boat is the type that Mark Twain piloted
during his "Life on the Mississippi." This view is from
Cardiff Hill; across the river is illinois its "
