Ox Carts. There are several methods of transporta-
tion in Cuba, and not the least interesting is the ponderous
ox cart, with wheels like great millstones and other gearing
in proportion. These carts are of prehistoric origin, and
are commonly used for heavy draying. In climbing steep
hills, four ox teams are frequently employed, and still
another team is placed in the rear to assist by pushing.
