The Major Reuben Colburn House, located just off Route 27 in Pittston, Maine, was built in 1765. Acquired by the State of Maine in 1973, the house is the headquarters of the Arnold Expedition Historical Society. The Colburn boatyard, behind the house on the Kennebec River, was commissioned by George Washington to build the 220 bateaux used by Colonel Benedict Arnold and Expedition Historical Society.
