GEMSBOK
(Oryx gazella)
The gemsbok, the largest antleope of the genus Oryx, is
known by its long, slightly curved horns. All are handsome
animals with compact bodies and showy markings, but the
most striking is the gemsbok. It is found in southwestern
Africa, mostly in desert areas from Angola and the Kalahari
Desert to the northern parts of Cape Province.
