ATTACK AT ORLEANS
During World War I, the only shell to hit United
States soil fell on Orleans, Cape Cod, Mass. on July
1, 1918. Some of the barges sank; torpedoes went
wild and no one was killed. A flag flies in Orleans
commemorating this historic event. One of a series
of 30 lifesize paintings by Frank Milby - now on ex-
hibit at PILGRIM THEATRE MUSEUM
