This view shows but one of the five great spans of solid concrete work of the largest bridge of its kind in the world. In the construction of this marvel of later day engineering no less than 40,000 tons of cement were used. The total length of the bridge is 585 feet, and the main span measures 233 feet in the clear and has a rise of 70 feet and 6 inches. The cost of the bridge exceeded $260,000. |
