THE RARE KING VULTURE
Known as the most dangerous bird that
flies, the many-colored King Vulture crashes
down on his victim like "Man Mountain Dean",
then carries his unconscious prey away in his
talons to his nest high up in the Andes. The
King Vulture whose habitat is South America,
devours only fresh meat. The species is
almost extinct, the pair in the Santa Catalina
Island Bird Park believed to be the only one
in captivity in North America.
