Mars Hill College, a co-educational junior college,
founded in 1856, is the oldest college in Western North
Carolina. It is located in the picturesque town of Mars
Hill, which has an elevation of 2,300 feet. The beauti-
ful campus includes more than 100 acres, on which are
15 buildings for administration and residence and a
number of cottages.
