One of the oldest and highest (elev. 4,000 ft.) summer
theatres in eastern United States. Built in 1932, the
playhouse is run as a professional summer stock com-
pany presenting plays and musicals during the summer
months. Air-conditioned by nature, Highlands is located
in the mountains of southwestern North Carolina,
where Rts. 64, 28 and 108 intersect.
