NASSAU HALL, 1756
Princeton University, Princeton, New Jersey
Named in honor of King William III of the
House of Nassau this famous building is one of
the historic shrines of the United States. From
June to November 1783 the Continental Congress
sat at Nassau Hall and thanked General George
Washington here, in person, for his conduct of
the Revolutionary War. Nearly every President of
the United States has visited here.
