Mr. Motorist: Do You Believe In Banks?
Of Course You Do. - Who Doesn't?
You can deposit in any good bank a single dollar, and
in 365 days it has earned for you three to four cents!
FINE! -If You Have Enough Dollars!
A single dollar wouldn't mean much to either you or the bank.
would it? BUT, the combined dollars of yours and others makes
the bank a mighty institution. In other words, -co-operation!
The Dictionary definition is: "Co-operation - To work together.
THAT'S IT! -To Work Together!
AND NOW -here's something good for YOU! We have been ap-
; pointed an Official Service Station of the National United Service,
an organization founded upon co-operation. Through this appoint-
ment we can now offer you an opportunity to invest that single
dollar bill where it will earn for you $25.00 to $50.00 or more
per year; payable at this or any of the hundreds of other National
United Service Stations throughout the United States; payable
in cash, not after 365 days, but EVERY DAY!
Impossible, you say? No, -Co-operation is the answer.
You can purchase from us a Yearly Membership Emblem for
One Dollar, -drive right up to our gasoline pump; -buy ten,
fifteen or twenty gallons of gas and save ten, fifteen or twenty
cents on the cash purchase. Not for one day, but every day of the
365. Not only at our pump, but at any National United Service
station anywhere in the United States. You save not alone on
gas, but on oil, tires, accessories and shop-work. -Sound good?
There is no hitch, -no joker, -no strings attached to this, you
have our guarantee for that, -just a simple plan of co-operation.
If you have a dollar's worth of faith in us, pin a dollar to this
card, return it at once and we will reserve a Membership for
you. If you're skeptical don't send the dollar, -come in and let
us explain this thoroughly, but DO IT NOW!
Costs a Dollar a Year -Saves a Dollar a Week!

NOTE: The "Piker" as referred to in the little poem below is the fellow who con.
ducts a gasoline shack along our highways. He gives no service-in fact he gives noth-
ing, unless he is well paid. He has no equipment, no investment, no expense. He opens
his shack on the first warm day of spring; he thrives on the summer trade, because he
is usually well patronized by the thoughtless motorist. When winter comes he is
gone. A sign on his shack reads "Open Next Summer" He has crawled into his hole,
taking with him the profits of a season and a business rightfully that of the garage
and service, man who conducts a real station, and who struggles through the bitter
months of winter, often at a loss, trying to maintain a year round service.
To these "regular fellows," we dedicate this little article in our constant effort to
educate the car-owner to patronize the place that gives service today, tomorrow and
all through the year. NATIONAL UNITED SERVICE.

SERVICE
"The Piker"
A man there was, and he owned a car
Which he hadn't driven so very far,
'Til he found the gas was low in the tank,
So he stopped at a "piker's" shack on the bank.
Some gas and oil he cheerily bought,
And then free air and water he sought.
"Free air and water?" laughed the "Piker"-amused,
"There's a pump and a bucket which you can use."
"I'll gladly sell you your gas and oil,
But in asking free service, you expect me to toil;
The garage man next door is the fellow you seek,
He's used to toiling-eight days a week."
"I'm here to sell-gas-no service I give,
The garage man does hard work,"
(He too, has to live!)
So the man went next door and he found,
So 'tis said,
The poor old garage man, lying there, DEAD!
"Over-work and starvation," the Coroner said.
Now the moral, my friend, stares you right in the face;
Don't buy your gas "just any old place,"
But buy from the fellow who serves you with cheer;
Who keeps his place open twelve months in the year;
Who gives you free water, advice and free air;
Who takes off the flat one, and puts on the spare.
He gives you HIS BEST in an effort to please,
Keep away from the "Piker"
-GIVE HIM THE BREEZE!
