The Eagle Gate was originally built with gates
which formed part of the unique cobblestone wall
surrounding the property of Brigham Young. The
Beehive House was built and used as the Execu-
tive Mansion of Brigham Young when he was Gov-
ernor of the Territory of Utah. It derives its
name from the Beehive on the top of the building.
