The Dutch Common, which
with English occupation be-
came Bowling Green, where
a gilded statue of George
III was erected and emclosed
by an iron fence. During the
Revolution, angry N e w
Yorkers deposed his majesty
and melted him into leaden
bullets.
This exhibit is unique and
quite wonderful. No visitor
to New York can afford to
miss it.
