Enlarged and remodelled by Ayres P. Merrill,
United States Minister to Belgium under the
Grant administration. Its galleries of lacy iron
work, said to have been brought from Belgium,
are unusual in this vicinity. Of particular in-
terest is a dining table over which is suspended a
punkah, a relic of slave days.
