LYON COUNTY COURT HOUSE 1911
Dayton was the first Lyon county seat from 1864 to 1909
when the court house was destroyed by fire. The more
prosperous Yerington fought for and won the county seat
from a declining Dayton. A colorful and patriotic corner
stone laying ceremony was held on Tuesday, September
19, 1911. Today Yerington is a prosperous center for
farming, ranching and mining.
