Corner stone laid October 12th 1907. The Northwest State Normal College building being erected at Maryville is situated on a fine large campus, consisting of 117 acres of the choicest land, the highest point on the Wabash railroad between St. Louis and Omaha. The school will have splendid agricultural facilities, and especial attention will be given to Agriculture, manual training and domestic science. The Normal Chautauqua grounds consist of a fine maple grove, which will be the home of annual Chautauqua Meetings. The normal grounds, and improvements already planned, will cost over $357,000,00. |
