No. 81-8.-Black Butte, near Sisson, is 6,000 feet high and
is almost a perfect cone, which is the result of some old
volcanic activity. There are numerous volcanic cones
scattered through the northern section of California, which
contribute largely toward making the region famous for the
variety and beauty of its scenery.
