Discovered in 1609 by Samuel de Champlain, the lake
is 107 miles long and 24 miles wide, and extends into
Canada. In this view from Allen's Bay, N. Y. South
of Plattsburgh, the Green Mts. of Vermont can be
seen in the distance.
