LA PLACITA DINING ROOMS
on the Old Town Plaza
Albuquerque, New Mexico
As seen from the bandstand in the center of the
Plaza. La Placita occupies the historic Casa de
Armijo, a Spanish hacienda which dates back to
the city's founding in 1706. The small cannon seen
in the foreground is one on which Confederate
troops from Texas used during their invasion and
occupation of New Mexico in 1862, and which
they left in Albuquerque when they retreated
south.
