The Museum and Mark Twain Boyhood Home at Han-
nibal, Missouri. The frame home was built in 1844 by
Mark Twain's father, and in it lived and played the boy
who later was to record his own experiences in "The Ad-
ventures of Tom Sawyer." The stone Museum was built
in 1937, modelled on a hundred-year-old building which
stood on the site. It contains thousands of exhibits,
memorabilia of Mark Twain and his times. Admission
free to Museum and Home—they are owned and main-
tained by the City of Hannibal.
