This group was recruited in- February 1947 and numbers approximately five hundred.
These "Beavers" in their travels during the past months, have advertised our
celebration and stories have been printed about them as far as China.

SESQUI CENTENNIAL
July 6 to 11, 1947, marks the 150th anniversary of the founding
of this town, which in its early days served primarily as a service
stop for freight wagons and stage coaches, traveling the Baltimore-
Pittsburgh turnpike. Today, Waynesboro is the agricultural and
industrial center of a large area of the Cumberland Valley.
