Dominating the Court of Communications, which extends
from the Perisphere and Trylon to the Communications Build-
ing, is a figure of a woman astride a winged horse. The title
of this group by Joseph E. Renier is “Speed" in the world of
modern communications. Basic motif of the group is the
horizontal line which is both expressive of the Theme and
indicative of modern decorative sculpture.
