After all the component parts of the tire havenbeen
assembled-high-stretch Gum-Dipped cords f skies
two Extra Gun, Dipped Cord Plies under the TreadAM
and the Tread Rubber itself—the tire is placedig a gigantic
curing mold.
1933
In this final important operation, the tire is forced by 43
tons pressure into the Firestone non-skid tread pattern
engraved in the steel mold and vulcanized by steam at
270° F.
