A CENTURY OF PROGRESS
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
TODAY I inspected the fastest multi-motored passenger-mail-
express plane now in service in the world — a sister ship of
the one pictured on the reverse side. Fifty of these new type
all-metal Boeing monoplanes are in service on United Air Lines
various routes.
Powered with two 550 h. p. supercharged Wasp engines,
they have a high speed of more than three miles a minute.
They carry ten passengers, two pilots and stewardess, their
baggage and mail and express and can climb, fully loaded, 1320
feet per minute and to 10,000 feet in eleven minutes. They
incorporate new features of comfort, speed, strength and power.
